based in Trollhättan
The Maritime Traffic Service business area works to enhance maritime safety and accessibility for shipping with the customer in focus, while minimizing the impact on the marine environment.
Job Responsibilities
As seasonal staff, you play an important role in maintaining safety and service during the summer peak season. Your main tasks include ticket sales, operating bridges and locks, and general maintenance/weeding of the area around the lock stairs in Trollhättan. You will have many contacts with tourists on site as well as communication with vessel traffic and recreational boats via VHF and telephone. You will work in a team with the canal central staff. The work follows a rolling schedule between 09:00-19:00 distributed over weekdays and weekends.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with good local knowledge and good computer skills who can easily handle various IT systems. You also have a knack for expressing yourself well in both spoken and written language, and you are proficient in both Swedish and English.
It is advantageous if you have education in maritime studies and/or experience in shipping. Experience in service roles is also beneficial. Previous experience with the canal central is a plus.

The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security clearance with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer is made.

How and when?
The position is a seasonal employment and will be filled in June and last until the end of August. Training will take place on a few occasions during April and May.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
The position may involve military placement at the Swedish Maritime Administration.
The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security clearance with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer is made.
